Eddie Van Haddock and the Seahorses: In a little town by the sea where the stories never end, lived Captain Dave and his crew, every child's favorite friend. With a smile as wide as the ocean and a heart that's full of dreams, he sails a mellow submarine where magic gleams and beams. Every morning at sunrise, when the world awakes anew, Captain Dave and his crew set sail in waters deep and blue through the ticking clock of time. Where adventures come alive. They laugh and learn and play each day in their underwater dive. Captain Dave and the Mellow Submarine.

Dave Graham: Captain Dave and Larry the Lobster's Underwater Cleanup Adventure. In the sparkling blue waters off the coast of Vancouver Island, nestled in a cozy cove near the community of Nanoose, there explored a most unusual pair of friends.

Captain Dave, a jolly man with a bushy beard and twinkling eyes, and his faithful companion, Larry the Lobster were the proud crew of the tiniest, yellowest submarine you've ever seen. Dave had christened their little vessel the Mellow Submarine, and it was a fitting name indeed. The sub was no bigger than a large rowboat, painted a cheerful sunshine yellow that could be spotted from quite a distance underwater.

It's round portholes look like curious eyes and the propellers at the back hummed a gentle tune as they spun through the water. Every morning Dave would put on his favorite captain's hat, a jaunty blue cap with a shiny anchor pin and Larry would polish his claws until they gleamed. Then they'd climb aboard the mellow submarine ready for whatever adventure the ocean might bring their way.

On this particular day, as the early morning mist was just lifting off the water, Dave and Larry were enjoying a breakfast of kelp cakes and sea cucumber juice in the sub's tiny kitchen. What do you think we'll find today, Larry? Dave asked, taking a big bite of his kelp cake. Larry clicked his claws excitedly and waved his antenna.

Though he couldn't speak, Dave always seemed to understand him perfectly. You're right, old friend, Dave chuckled. Every day is a new adventure under the sea. Just then, there was a frantic capping on the Mellow Submarine's hatch. Dave and Larry looked at each other in surprise. Who could be knocking on their door?

Dave turned the wheel to open the hatch, and in came the most distressed looking clam they had ever seen. His shell was pearl white, but his eyes were wide with worry. Oh, Captain Dave! Larry! Thank goodness I found you! The clam panted, trying to catch his breath. I'm Clem the Clam, and we need your help urgently!

Dave leaned forward, his brow furrowed with concern. What seems to be the trouble, Clem? Clem's shell quivered as he spoke. Oh, it's terrible! Our beautiful home in Seaweed Meadows is being invaded by strange floating monsters! They're tangling up the coral, trapping fish, and making a mess of everything! We don't know what to do!

Dave stroked his beard thoughtfully. Floating monsters, you say? Can you describe them? Clem nodded vigorously. Oh, they're thin and crinkly, like ghostly jellyfish. But they don't swim. They just drift with the currents. And there are other odd things, too. Round, hard objects that don't belong in our ocean home.

Dave and Larry exchanged a knowing look, they had heard of such things before, and their hearts sank at the realization. I'm afraid those aren't monsters, Clem. Dave said gently. They sound like plastic bags and other garbage that sometimes finds its way into the ocean from the land above. Clem's eyes grew even wider.

Garbage in our beautiful ocean? Why? Dave sighed. Sometimes people on land don't realize how their actions can affect life under the sea. But don't worry, Clem. Larry and I will help you clean up Seaweed Meadows and make it safe for all your fishy friends again. Clem's shell relaxed a little. Oh, thank you, Captain Dave.

Thank you, Larry. What should we do first? Dave stood up, straightening his captain's hat with determination. First, we'll gather a team. Then we'll devise a plan to rid your home of this pesky garbage. Larry, lot of course for Seaweed Meadows. Larry saluted with his big red claw and scuffled over to the navigation console.

With a few clicks and whirs, the Mellow Submarine's engines hummed to life and they were off on their latest mission. As they traveled through the underwater world, Dave, Larry, and Clem gazed out the portholes at the wonders passing by. Schools of silverfish darted around them, their scales glittering in the filtered sunlight.

The Forests of kelp swayed gently in the current, home to countless tiny sea creatures. Colorful sea anemones waved their tentacles from rocky outcroppings, and curious seals peered at the yellow submarine as it glided by. Your ocean home is so beautiful, Dave said to Glenn. We'll do everything we can to keep it that way.

Before long, they arrived at Seaweed Meadows. It was usually a vibrant underwater garden, full of life and color. But now, as they looked out the portholes, they could see the problem immediately. Plastic bags drifted eerily through the water like pale ghosts. Discarded bottles and cans littered the sandy bottom.

Angles of fishing line wrapped around coral branches, trapping small fish and crustaceans. Oh my, Dave murmured, this is worse than I thought, but don't worry Clem, we'll fix this. They surfaced the mellow submarine in a calm patch of water and opened the hatch. Immediately, they were surrounded by a crowd of concerned sea creatures.

Fish of every color, octopuses, sea turtles, and more. Everyone, Clem called out, this is Captain Dave and Larry. They're here to help us clean up our home. A cheer went up from the gathered sea life, bubbles rising in excited clusters to the surface above. Dave stood up, his head and shoulders emerging from the submarine's hatch.

Thank you all for coming, he said. This is a big job, but if we work together, we can make Seaweed Meadows beautiful again. Here's the plan. And so Operation Clean Sweep began. Dave had brought special nets and bags to collect the garbage safely. He showed the fish how to work in teams to corral the floating plastic bags into one area, where Dave could scoop them up with his net.

Larry led a group of crabs and smaller lobsters in gathering the cans and bottles from the ocean floor. They formed a line, passing the items from claw to claw until they reached the mellow submarine where Dave stored them safely away. The octopuses, with their clever tentacles, worked on untangling the fishing lines from the coral.

They were extra careful not to harm any of the small creatures that had become trapped. Clem and his clam friends had an important job, too. They filtered the water, removing tiny pieces of plastic that were too small for the others to see. As they worked, Dave told the sea creatures about the importance of keeping the ocean clean.

He explained where the garbage came from, and how they could prevent it from reaching their home in the future. If you ever see animals on the shore dropping things into the water, he said, you can splash and make noise to let them know it's not okay. And if you find garbage floating by, you can push it towards the shore where it's easier for land animals to remove it properly.

The cleanup took many hours and everyone worked very hard, but slowly, surely, seaweed meadows began to transform. The water became clearer, the seaweed stood tall and proud again, and the fish swam freely without fear of becoming entangled. As the sun began to set, painting the sky above in brilliant oranges and pinks, Dave called everyone together.

My friends, he said, beaming with pride, look at what we've accomplished today. The sea creatures cheered and splashed, overjoyed at the sight of their clean and beautiful home. Clem sidled up to Dave and Larry. We can't thank you enough, he said, his shell gleaming in the fading light. You've saved our home and taught us so much.

How can we ever repay you? Dave smiled warmly. Seeing this beautiful place restored is all the payment we need, Clem. But there is one thing you can do, anything, Clem exclaimed. Pass on what you've learned, Dave said. Teach other sea creatures about keeping the ocean clean. And never stop caring for your home and each other.

Clem nodded solemnly. We will, Captain Dave. We promise. As Dave and Larry prepared to head home in the Mellow Submarine, the sea creatures of Seaweed Meadows gathered around to say goodbye. There were happy tears and lots of bubbles blown in farewell. The Mellow Submarine's engine hummed to life, and with a final wave, Dave and Larry began their journey home.

As they traveled, they talked excitedly about their adventure and the new friends they'd made. You know, Larry, Dave said, looking out at the now clean waters. Days like today remind me why we do what we do. Every little bit helps when it comes to keeping our oceans clean and safe. Larry clicked his claws in agreement, his antenna waving happily.

As they approached their home cove, the stars were just beginning to twinkle in the sky above. Dave guided the mellow submarine into its berth, and he and Larry climbed out, tired, but content. What do you say we have some seaweed soup and turn in early, old friend? Dave asked, we've had quite a day. Larry nodded enthusiastically, already heading towards their cozy underwater home.

As they enjoyed their warm soup, Dave and Larry talked about what adventure might come next. But for now, they were happy knowing that somewhere out there, in a beautiful place called Seaweed Meadows, the water was clean, the fish were safe, and their new friends were enjoying their restored home. And so, with full bellies and happy hearts, Captain Dave and Larry the Lobster drifted off to sleep, dreaming of the endless wonders waiting to be discovered in the big blue ocean, and the many ways they could help protect it, one small adventure at a time.

Eddie Van Haddock and the Seahorses: When the night falls softly and stars light up the sky, Captain Dave tucks his crew in with a gentle lullaby, dreams of Whales and mermaids of treasures lush and green await each little sailor aboard the mellow submarine.
